Why this role matters
The Business Analyst plays a foundational role in shaping GradWIN's product development. You will work with the Product Owner to help us deeply understand user needs, translating these insights into clear requirements, and support the Product Owner, Project Manager and engineering teams by ensuring accuracy, clarity and alignment with stories and documentation. This role is ideal for someone who loves untangling complexity, spotting patterns, asking great questions, and turning raw information into structured, meaningful product direction.

What you'll do
Product Requirements Analysis
What you'll bring
Must-Have
  • Work closely with the product owner to define user stories, acceptance criteria, and detailed requirements
  • Analyse and document business processes, workflows and user journeys
  • Facilitate requirements-gathering workshops, and discussions with founders, students, universities, employers and GradWIN partners.
User Research & Insights
  • Conduct user interviews, surveys and feedback sessions to uncover pain points, motivations and behaviours
  • Transform qualitative and quantitative insights into clear product recommendations
  • Create journey maps, personas, and problem statements to support product decisions
Product Documentation and Clarity
  • Prepare clear visual documents such as:
  • Process maps
  • feature breakdowns
  • wireframe annotations
  • data-flow diagrams
  • Maintain an organised requirements library accessible to product and engineering
Collaboration & Delivery Support
  • Work with design to ensure requirements align with UX flows
  • Partner with engineering to confirm understanding, feasibility and story point allocation
  • Support backlog refinement, sprint planning, and UAT testing
  • Validate developed features against acceptance criteria before release
Quality, Governance & Continuous Improvement
  • Identify edge cases, risks and dependencies early
  • Recommend solutions that balance user needs, technical effort and business value
  • Help ensure GradWIN meets standards for privacy, data protection and ethical practice
  • Minimum of 5 years experience as a Business Analyst in digital products, SaaS, or Platform environments
  • Strong ability to gather and document detailed business and technical requirements
  • Skilled in mapping processes, workflows and user journeys
  • Exceptional communication and facilitation capabilities
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams (design, marketing and engineering)
  • Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, Service NOW and Microsoft Teams
Nice-to-Have
  • Experience in early-stage startup environments
  • Exposure to edtech, careers, HR tech, wellbeing or marketplace products
  • Exposure to agile ways of working (scrum or kanban)
  • Ability to create low-fidelity wireframes or prototype flows (extra points if you have used Figma)
  • Understanding of data structures, simple SQL or analytics tools (extra points for PowerBI knowledge)
