Reporting & Moderation Policy

Humans review every report.

GradWIN uses lightweight automated triage to surface urgent issues quickly, but every enforcement decision is made by a trained human reviewer.

1.How to Report

  • use the report button on a profile, badge, comment, or reflection
  • email hello@gradwin.app for anything urgent
  • contact local emergency services if you are in immediate danger

2.What We Review

Reports related to:

  • harassment, bullying, threats
  • hate speech or discrimination
  • sexual content or unwanted advances
  • doxxing or privacy violations
  • fraudulent credentials or impersonation
  • spam, scams, or fake recruiter accounts
  • any content that breaks our Community Standards

3.Response Times

  • urgent safety reports — within 24 hours
  • harassment and abuse — within 48 hours
  • credential or fraud reports — within 5 business days
  • general moderation — within 7 business days

4.Possible Actions

  • no action (with reasoning logged)
  • content removed
  • private warning issued
  • content hidden from public view
  • credential revoked
  • account suspended (temporary or permanent)
  • report escalated to the user's university
  • report escalated to law enforcement where required

5.Transparency

If you submit a report, you will receive an outcome notification. If action is taken against your account, you will be told what and why, and you may appeal.

6.Appeals

To appeal a moderation decision, reply to the notification email or contact hello@gradwin.app within 30 days. Appeals are reviewed by a different reviewer.

7.Record Keeping

Reports, actions, and reviewer decisions are logged in our admin audit system and retained per our Data Retention Policy. Records are accessible only to authorised reviewers and may be shared with universities or law enforcement only where required.
